The newest member of the Kamloops NorthPaws is home!

This large brown and white canine was adopted from the BC SPCA Kamloops & District Branch to keep us company leading up to our first season at Norbrock Stadium next summer.

This quiet doggo is very playful and loves to make new friends. Homer is very well-trained and can shake a paw, roll over, play fetch in the outfield and even walk on two legs!

The name Homer was selected through the help of our fans.

We received over 150 submissions with over 60 different name choices, and through a social media voting process, Homer emerged as the fan favourite.

Thank you to everyone who helped us name our doggo!

It is also a fantastic choice of name for a baseball dog based on the following definitions:

  • A home run, something we expect to see many of when the West Coast League comes to Norbrock Stadium.
  • Someone who shows blind loyalty to a team, we dare you to find a bigger NorthPaws fan!
  • A bonehead, because our mascot is full of shenanigans.

Keep your eyes out for your chance to meet Homer around the Kamloops region leading up to our 2024 season and when you do, please be gentle and don’t play too… ruff!
