The 2025 West Coast League All-Star Game rosters were announced, and four NorthPaws will represent the team in Bellingham on Wednesday, July 16th, at Joe Martin Field in Bellingham. Right-handed pitchers Mason Chien and Keith Manby will appear in the game on the mound, while first baseman and outfielder Jared Hall, along with “SuperUtility” Elijah Clayton, will appear in the game.
“Super pumped for these four guys making the all-star game, it’s a super cool experience that they are going to be a part of. All four guys have been day 1 guys and are a big reason for our successes,” said NorthPaws Head Coach Riley Jepson.
Elijah Clayton has been an everyday player for Kamloops this summer, playing six different positions. Clayton is currently riding an eight-game hit streak, sporting a .286 batting average with nine RBI’s. Clayton has been a mainstay at the top of the order and has brought a lot of defensive versatility to the team. Clayton’s featured attribute is his speed on the basepaths. He has 19 this summer, which has him tied for second in that category.
“It means a lot, I’m very excited to be able to represent the NorthPaws and am overall grateful for the opportunity,” said Clayton.
Mason Chien has made five starts so far this summer and has a 2-3 record with a 2.52 ERA over 25 innings pitched. The righty has gone three innings or longer in every start, including five-plus innings in his last two. Chiens’ highlights include his seven-inning, one-hit performance in Walla Walla on June 17th. That outing saw him strike out eight hitters and throw an immaculate inning. Chien followed that up with six shutout innings while striking out seven against Kelowna one week later.
“I’m extremely grateful to represent the NorthPaws at the All-Star Game. Our defence has been so dialled this year, so I owe it all to them. I’m very lucky to share the field with so many talented guys on our team”, said Chien.
Jared Hall is the second man to represent the NorthPaws at the plate and has been praised by his coaching staff all summer long. Hall has been featured in the right field and first base this season and is hitting a team-best .318 in 26 games. Hall has five extra-base hits and leads Kamloops in RBIs so far with 16.
“It means a ton to be able to represent everything the teams accomplished as well as represent the city and fans that have been so supportive of us this year,” said Hall.
Last but certainly not least, right-handed pitcher Keith Manby will be the second pitcher to represent the NorthPaws in Bellingham. Manby has made six appearances and one start for Kamloops this summer. Manby has been spotless this summer, having not surrendered an earned run through 18 innings of work. Manby has been a high-leverage guy in the bullpen, going three innings or longer in five of his six outings. Manby has given up just nine hits while striking out 14 hitters. He also collected a save on June 7th against Kelowna.
“I’m very excited for the opportunity, it’s an honour to represent the NorthPaws at the All-Star Game. It means a lot to be recognized, and I’m proud to showcase the talent and hard work that our team brings every day,” said Manby.
The NorthPaws have impressed so far this summer with four players representing the team compared to just one last summer. Head Coach Riley Jepson has been excited to see his roster take shape and find its form as the back half of the season approaches.
“We got a bunch of guys who are deserving in my eyes on this team, and I’m proud of the work our team has put in,” said Jepson.
The All-Star Festivities kick off at 6:35 on Wednesday, July 16th, and will be streamed on MLB Network and MLB-related digital channels.
