KAMLOOPS – For the first time this season, a member of the Kamloops NorthPaws has been awarded a West Coast League honour.
Griffin Almond has been named the Ross Adams Pitcher of the Week (ending June 11, 2023).
The Thornby, Ontario resident went six innings Friday (June 9) in a 1-0 win over the defending league champion Corvallis Knights.
He gave up two hits, a walk and had three strikeouts in six innings. It was the NorthPaws and Almond’s first win of the season.
Almond and his teammates open up a three game set in Edmonton on Tuesday (June 13) against the Riverhawks .
