Colby Ring (University of Antelope Valley) has been named the West Coast League Pitcher of the Week for Week 1 of the 2022 season.
The lefty from Langley pitched six scoreless innings in his WCL debut in Thursday’s final game against the Edmonton Riverhawks.
Ring allowed four hits and one walk while striking out eight in his first start of the summer season. The NorthPaws went on to win the game 1-0 in extra innings to complete the sweep of the opening series.
The NorthPaws are 4-1 on the season, currently in first place in the North Division.
The NorthPaws split a doubleheader on the road against the Port Angeles Lefties on Saturday before Sunday’s rubber match game was rained out.
The division leaders head to Cowlitz to take on the Black Bears in a three-game set before returning to Kamloops for a two-series homestand starting Friday. The Bellingham Bells will be in town June 10-12 followed by the Victoria HarbourCats from June 14-16.
